Vinter finishes 2017 as Club Champion

Hard work and consistent performances have propelled Tyla Vinter to club champion of PGA IGI for 2017.

Tyla mirrored his performances across both rounds of the final club championships for 2017, played over two rounds at Sanctuary Cove Golf & Country Club’s The Palms Course.

Commencing the final round three shots back from leader Bovorn Bovornratanaraks, Tyla was quick to close the gap in the early holes, to take the lead to be ahead of Bovorn.

Windy conditions and slick greens greeted the players on the Palms Course for the final round, with Tyla mastering the conditions to come out on top with a final round of 74. He claimed a four shot victory ahead of Seow Wai Shean (Sean) from Malaysia.

In 2017 as part of the Player Development Program, undertaken in conjunction with the PGA IGI Diploma of Golf Management, Tyla has received coaching and support from PGA Professional and regular PGA IGI golf coach Mark Gibson.

For Bovorn, his scores over the two rounds were still good enough to hold on to capture the Club Champion – Nett. This was Bovorn’s final competition rounds with PGA IGI before entering the PGA Trainee Program in 2018?

Tyla will graduate from PGA IGI on 7th December at our 2017 PGA IGI Graduation Ceremony. With that in mind who will be crowned our first club champion in 2018.

Applications for 2018 are now open for the PGA IGI Diploma of Golf Management. Students begin our golf education program on Monday 12th February 2018, commencing their first steps towards a career in golf.
