It was a proud day on Monday 14th November as students graduated for 2016 from the PGA IGI Golf Management Program. After a year of study, successful students graduated with Australia’s only golf management qualification, the 10459NAT Diploma of Golf Management.
Held at the Jabiru Restaurant at Sanctuary Cove Golf & Country Club, students were joined by family, friends and loved ones in celebrating their achievements with the PGA International Golf Institute.
Over one year of study in the Golf Management Program, students learnt the business and management foundations that are applied to the golf industry. Their studied focused on areas such as managing competitions, merchandising for golf shops, running golf events, public speaking, customer service and much more.
“The program aims at getting students ready for a career in the golf industry, providing them with job ready skills to take on board and used within the workforce,” explained PGA IGI Senior Manager, Christine Straw.
The graduating class of 2016 now begin their next step in their careers, whether that be entering Bachelor Degrees at Griffith University, entering the PGA Trainee Program or beginning careers in the golf industry.
“The PGA IGI Golf Management Program is industry recognised, and with support of industry professionals has seen graduates move in to management roles in Australia and overseas, in countries such as Vietnam, Hong Kong, China, UAE, Singapore, Thailand and many more,” continued Straw.
“We look forward to following the student’s journey into the golf industry and seeing them in variety of exciting roles over the years to come,”
