Higher Education Pathways

With our partner institutions, students can articulate into Bachelor Degrees earning up to a one-year credit (equivalent) off the regular three-year Bachelor Degrees

Students who successfully complete the following courses at the PGA Institute are eligible to apply for credits toward selected Bachelor Degrees with the following institutions:

Diploma of Golf Management (10810NAT) completion with PGA Institute gives students access to the following Higher Education Pathways: 

VICTORIA UNIVERSITY 

  • Bachelor of Sport (Management) (VU SBSM) – PGA Institute students will be eligible to receive a block credit for one year of study (96 points), enrolling directly into year two. This is open to both domestic and international students. 

HOLMESGLEN TAFE 

  • Bachelor of Sport (Business)(BSPB1054) – PGA Institute students will be eligible to receive 24 credit points (equivalent to half year credit) 
  • Dual Qualification – Bachelor of Hospitality (Holmesglen Tafe) & Diploma of Golf Management (PGA Institute). Students have to be enrolled in the Hospitality course at Holmesglen – and then they will only have to complete 9 units of our Diploma of Golf Management to receive the Dual Qualification. 
  • Diploma Golf Management & Bachelor of Sport (Business)Bundle – Enrol in both courses concurrently. As stated above receive half year credit towards bachelor courses, complete both courses in potentially 3.5years. 

GRIFFITH UNIVERSITY 

  • PGA Institute students will be eligible to receive 80 credit points towards the following Bachelor of Business degree’s, completing the Bachelor in 2 years. 
  • Bachelor of Business (Sport Management) 
  • Bachelor of Business (Event Management) 
  • Bachelor of Business (International Hotel and Tourism Management) 

Diploma of Business (BSB50120) completion with PGA Institute gives students access to the following Higher Education Pathways: 

TORRENS UNIVERSITY 

The following pathways to bachelor degrees that can be completed 100% online or on campus: 

  • Bachelor of Business (Event Management) (BBUSEVT23) – Block credit guaranteed 80 points (40 credit points at 100 level, 40 credit points at 200 level, 0 credit points at 300 level) 
  • Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting)(BCOMACC21) – Block credit guaranteed 80 points 
  • Bachelor of Business Information Systems(BBIS21) – Block credit guaranteed 80 points (40 credit points at 100 level, 30 credit points at 200 level and 10 credit points at 300 level) 

Diploma of Sport (SIS50321) or Diploma of Business (BSB50120) completion with PGA Institute gives students access to the following Higher Education Pathways: 

TORRENS UNIVERSITY  

The following pathways to bachelor degrees that can be completed 100% online or on campus: 

  • Bachelor of Business (BBUS23) – Block credit guaranteed 80 points

Advanced Diploma of Leadership & Management (BSB60420) completed with PGA institute give students access to the following Higher Education Pathways:

The following pathways to bachelor degrees that can be completed 100% online or on campus: 

  • Bachelor of Business (BBUS23) – Block credit guaranteed 100 points 
  • Bachelor of Business (Entrepreneurship) (BBUSENT23) – Block credit guaranteed 90 points 
  • Bachelor of Business (Marketing) (BBUSMKT23) – Block credit guaranteed 90 points 
  • Bachelor of Business (Sport Management) (BBUSSPO23) – Block credit guaranteed 90 points 
  • Bachelor of Business Information Systems (BBIS21) – Block credit guaranteed 100 points (50 credit points at 100 level, 30 credit points at 200 level and 20 credit points at 300 level) 
  • Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting)(BCOMACC21) – Block credit guaranteed 90 points 

PATHWAY TO BECOMING A PGA PROFESSIONAL

The Professional Golfers Association (PGA) is the peak body for professional golf in Australia. The PGA of Australia delivers education to professional golfers, and golfers studying to become a Full Vocational Member of the PGA of Australia.   

Successful graduates in the following courses may be able to access PGA pathways into the PGA Member Pathway Program. These pathways are available for those who wish to turn their passion for golf into a career as a Full Vocational Member of the PGA of Australia (PGA Professional)  

  • Diploma of Sport(SIS50321) – Completion of this course will give students a credit for year 3 academics of the MPP, potentially allowing the completion of the MPP in 2 years instead of 3 (assuming the completion of workplace and playing requirements).  
  • Diploma of Golf Management(10810NAT) – Completion of this course will give students a credit for year 3 academics of the MPP, potentially allowing the completion of the MPP in 2 years instead of 3 (assuming the completion of workplace and playing requirements).  
  • Certificate III in Sport (Athlete)(SIS30421) & PGA Performance Program – Completion of this course will give students the chance to potentially improve their golf to the level required for acceptance into the MPP program and the Cert III accreditation is credited against the year 1 subjects in the MPP allowing advanced entry into Year 2 and the 3rd year diploma qualification as part of the MPP (options include: Dip of Golf Management, Dip of Sport, etc)  

Study in the PGA Member Pathway Program is a combination of employment, on the job training, face to face training schools (delivered off site) and online learning delivered in the student’s workplace. In addition, students will ensure they retain a professional playing standard through entry in regular PGA Associate tournaments.  

All students wishing to enter either program must meet the program entry requirements. Upon successful completion of all program requirements, the Membership Pathway Program leads to Full Membership (Vocational) of the PGA, translating an individual’s passion for the sport into a wide variety of career opportunities in the golf industry.
