The PGA Institute delivers Australia’s only 10810NAT Diploma of Golf Management qualification. Delivered over one year of study, students will undertake a program of academic study and golf development, to take the first steps towards a career in golf.
Since its opening in 2005, the PGA Institute has been a leader in golf education. The qualification was developed by the PGA Institute in consultation with golf industry bodies, covering the best practice principles for the business and management of the golf industry.
Throughout their study, students get access to a number of leaders from the golf industry. Students will also spend time with PGA Golf Professionals who have coached a number of golf’s leading talents. They will gain insight from golf managers, consultants and industry professionals, who will provide them with current skills and knowledge for becoming a golf management specialist.
Students from Australia and around the world commence the PGA Institute Diploma of Golf Management each year to improve their golfing knowledge, skills and competencies. Graduates of the Diploma of Golf Management have successfully gone on to University and PGA Membership Program, becoming qualified and successful Members in the sport.
Golf Program Features
The PGA Institute Diploma of Golf Management offers students access to a number of golf industry leaders. Our aim is to provide students with the best knowledge to improve their skills in business, management and for the game of golf.
The program will discuss the latest trends and best management practices that are seen and implemented as part of a manager’s every day roles within the golf industry. Students will have access to the latest information, practice methods and technology from golf’s top brands.
The PGA Institute offers year round access to golf courses, game development and coaching from leading Australian PGA Professionals. This all combines to help students towards a career in golf.

Your Study Program
10810NAT Diploma of Golf Management is a competency based qualification. It aims to provide students with learning outcomes to get them job ready for a career in golf. The program contains 19 units of competency, made up of 15 core and 4 elective units. The areas of study are based around business, administration, management and golf skills.

Online Learning
10810NAT Diploma of Golf Management is delivered by the PGA Institute, an industry leader in golf management education. The program delivers academic learning that focuses on the business, management and administration of the golf industry. This one-of-a-kind qualification incorporates best practice principles, skills and knowledge for the golf industry. The content has been specifically designed to reflect the multiple facets that make up the golf management industry, working through areas such as club management, golf operations, events, catering management, planning and development, participation and many more. Students have up to two years to complete the Diploma of Golf Management.

Delivered online with a maximum of 2 years to complete. All the resources to complete the course are supplied and supported by the PGA Institute Programs Manager.

PGA Institute Pathways - Your Next Step

After successful completion of the 10810NAT Diploma of Golf Management with the PGA Institute, students have the opportunity to articulate into programs with our education partners, or with the PGA of Australia (eligibility criteria may apply).
Graduates of the PGA Institute Diploma of Golf Management receive up to one year credit into selected Bachelor Degrees with Griffith and Southern Cross Universities. Graduates can utilise the Diploma of Golf Management as a pathway to Membership of one of the world’s most respected sporting organisations.
Additionally, graduates with a Diploma of Golf Management may be able to enter the PGA of Australia’s Membership Pathway Program with advanced recognition for the completion of the Diploma qualification.
Upon successful completion of all program requirements, the Membership Pathway Program leads to Full Membership (Vocational) of the PGA, translating an individual’s passion for the sport into a wide variety of career opportunities in the golf industry. Study in the PGA Membership Pathway Program is a combination of employment, on the job training, face to face training schools and online learning.
In addition, students will ensure they retain a professional playing standard through entry in regular PGA Associate tournaments. All students wishing to enter the PGA Member Pathway Program must meet the program’s entry requirements.
Entry Requirements

All students studying the 10810NAT Diploma of Golf Management must meet the following entry requirements:
Domestic Students
- Be aged 18 years of age or older, or turning 18 years of age during your study
- Successful completion of Australian Year 12 or higher qualification (or equivalent)*
*Where required, students must successfully complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy Assessment
