YTD: Lefties on Top in Club Champs

It was all about the left handers in the first half of 2017, with Zachary Ion and Nicholas Bond in the capturing the PGA IGI Club Championship titles for the first half of 2017.

The hard work on the practice range paid off for the duo by capturing the first PGA IGI titles on offer for 2017.

Zachary Ion led from the front over the two rounds of the championships to capture the Club Championship (Gross) Division. It was a close tussle for Zach, taking out the top prize winning the Club Champs by one shot.

For Nicholas Bond, consistency was the key for his success in capturing the Club Championship Nett Division. Off a handicap of 10, Nick’s nett scores of 69 and 71 for his two rounds helped him capture the Nett Division title.

Both Zach and Nick commenced study with at the PGA International Golf Institute in February this year. Zach moved up from Sawtell, NSW, located in the Coffs Harbour Region. For Nick the move to study on the Gold Coast was a slightly longer trip, moving from Tooma, NSW, located near Albury on the NSW Victoria border.

The two lefties will be out to defend their titles when the second edition of the Club Championships is held for 2017. Zach and Nick will have to defend their titles against their current classmates, along with the new students joining the PGA International Golf Institute in our July intake.
