Consistency the key for Whitting

A stellar year on the golf course for Zac Whitting culminated with being awarded the PGA IGI Golf Excellence Award at this year’s PGA IGI Graduation Ceremony, held at Sanctuary Cove Golf & Country Club.

Whitting moved from Western Australia to commence his studies with the PGA International Golf Institute in February 2016. After a year of study, he graduated his study with Australia’s only golf management qualification, 10459NAT Diploma of Golf Management.

After beginning his first semester in 2016 with a few good rounds in places, it was the second semester of study that saw Whitting turn in to the model of consistency that reaped the rewards.

Whitting was successful in capturing the Peter Senior Matchplay Championship, the PGA IGI’s year round knockout Matchplay competition.

His consistency was on show more than ever in the back half of the year, winning the Order of Merit (nett) for semester 2 2016, played over 12 competition weeks.

“It was great to see the hard work pay off for Zac in 2016 with his results on the golf course,” said Jamie Brew, PGA IGI Programs Manager.

“After undertaking development of the golf swing at the beginning of the year, the practice and application he applied throughout his PGA IGI studies has paid dividends through his achievements in the back half of the year on the golf course.”

The next stop for Whitting is University, commencing a Bachelor Degree at Griffith University in 2017, accessing the pathways provided by the PGA IGI to its graduates.
